A temporary office of the Central Building Authority (CBA) has been opened in Ranchito Village, Corozal District. The office, which officially opened its doors today, is housed within the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing compound and is expected to improve access to key services for contractors, property owners, and members of the public who previously had to travel outside the district to conduct business with the Authority. The establishment of the temporary office seeks to expand the CBA’s presence in northern Belize as the district is seeing a steady growth and development, particularly in construction. According to a release from the Authority, this expansion will provide for compliance officers to ensure that construction activities are aligned with the Belize Building Act, its regulations, and the 2024 Belize Building Codes. The new office is also expected to provide easier access to guidance and information on proper construction practices and regulatory requirements.
