The 115th staging of the ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships gets underway on Tuesday at the National Stadium.

Action gets underway at 9am with the first round heats of the Class three girls 1500m.

No final is scheduled for the opening day where Kingston College and Edwin Allen will put their respective titles on the line.

Both schools have been in fantastic form throughout the various meets across the country since the start of the year and are favourites the retain their respective crowns.

Michael Dyke has been at the helm of all 11 title wins for the Frankfield based institution and he told Nationwide Sports a short while ago that everything is in place in his camp and it’s just a matter of getting started.

Much has been made of the newly renovated track at the national stadium but Dyke isn’t worried.

Coach of Edwin Allen Michael Dyke.

Edwin Allen won the title last year with 335.5 points, beating into second dethroned champions Hydel 326 and St. Jago 171.

Kingston College will be going after title number 36, one that would be massively celebrated in the school’s 100th anniversary and one which would be grand send off for coach Leeford Grant who has already announced this will be his Champs.

Jamaica College and a greatly resurgent Calabar are the usual suspect expected to push the Boys from North Street.
