Champs: Top Athletes Advance to Next Round of 100m

Sabrina Dockery of Lacovia produced perhaps the most impressive performance so far on day one of the 115th ISSA/Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Championships at the National Stadium.

Dockery clocked 11.12 seconds to lead all qualifiers in the girls class one 100m.

Dockery was just one 100ths of a second outside her lifetime best

St. Jago’s Adora Campbell was very impressive and will go into the the next round of the class two 100m with the fastest time after winning her heat in 11.60 seconds

Trecia Ann Grant also of St. Jago was the fastest in class three with a decent 11.90 seconds.

Danae Bartley of Vere Tech was the quickest of the class four qualifiers with 12.13 seconds.

On the boys side title favourite Gary Card was second in his first round heat of the boys class one 100m in 10.32 seconds, the heat won by Rosean Smith of Lacovia who did a lifetime best 10.31 seconds

Jeneail Henry of Excelsior will take the fastest time into the next round in class two with 10.68 seconds

In class three it was Jamaica Colleges Kai Kelly who led the qualifiers, he stopped the clock at 10.97 seconds

On the girls side St. Jago’s Adora Campbell was very impressive and will go into the the next round of the class two 100m with the fastest time after winning her heat in 11.60 seconds

Trecia Ann Grant also of St. Jago was the fastest in class three with a decent 11.90 seconds.

The class ones are due up any moment now.

The 400m heats also witnessed steady performances from the big names.

Marcinho Rose of Kingston College look on course to defend his class one boys title after producing the fastest time in the preliminary round 47.52 seconds.

The big favourite to win the class one girls title Abigail Campbell of Hydel was comfortable in leading all qualifiers into the next round with her 53.94 seconds.

Shamoyea Morris of Edwin Allen currently leads the qualifiers in the class one girls Discus with 50.31m

Svein Lawrence of Petersfield leads all qualifiers into the next round of the class one boys Long Jump with 7.23m
