Former West Indies batting star Shivnarine Chanderpaul has lost his job as coach of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for the 2025 edition of the Caribbean Premier League, CPL.
The 54 year old Chanderpaul coached the team in it’s first year in the League last season, but he’ll be replaced by former England Wicketkeeper Paul Nixon.
Kris Persaud, owner and founder of the Falcons, and general manager, Jeff Miller welcomed Nixon to the franchise, and thanked Chanderpaul for his contribution.
Nixon was head coach of the now defunct Jamaica Tallawahs when they won the CPL title in 2013 and 2016.
The 54-year-old has held several head coaching positions around the world and previously coached the Jamaica Tallawahs to the title two years ago.
Nixon said he was honoured to have been selected and hoped to lead the Falcons to success in this year’s competition.
