The JAAA has made several changes to the team that will represent Jamaica at the NACAC Track and Field Championships in Freeport, Bahamas, from August 15-17.

Tia Clayton, Ashanti Moore and Kerrica Hill have all withdrawn from their individual events.

Clayton, who failed to finish in the women’s 100-metres at the National Senior Championship, was replaced by Jonelle Smith in that event.

Meanwhile, Moore has been replaced in women’s 200-metres by Roneisha McGregor.

Sports analyst, Leighton Levy is not Surprised by Moore’s withdrawal.

Hill has been replaced in the women’s 100-metre hurdles by Yanique Thompson.

Levy says Hill continue to be a mystery.

In the 4-by-100-metres relay, McGregor will replace Clayton, while Briana Williams and Thompson have been added to the pool.

Meanwhile, Jamaica women’s 4×400-metres relay team may missed out on their opportunity to strengthen their place at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo as the Jamaicans are the only team entered for the event at the NACAC Championships.

Jamaica currently sits in the last qualifying place, 16th, based on the three minutes, 24.92 ran at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Levy says as long as only the 15 countries ranked ahead of Jamaica run faster than that time between now and August 25, 2025, Jamaica is in.
