Chronic Law has officially secured the title of most-streamed dancehall artist on Spotify in Jamaica for 2025, marking a major career-first milestone for the NY Girls hitmaker. Spotify data supplied exclusively to World Music Views shows that he has risen from No. 3 in 2024 to No. 2 overall in 2025, on bested by Toronto superstar Drake his strongest showing yet. Kartel, who held the No. 2 overall spot last year, moves to No. 3 overall for 2025, now second among dancehall artists behind Chronic Law.

Kartel had also previously dominated the platform as Jamaica’s leading dancehall act for four consecutive years, maintaining the No. 1 position ever since Spotify entered the Jamaican market in February 2021. The platform’s local launch reshaped how Jamaicans consume digital music, and Kartel’s extensive two-decade catalog has consistently placed him at the forefront—even now, his body of work continues to outperform most of the genre and demonstrates remarkable staying power.

Meanwhile, Drake has extended his unmatched dominance on the island, remaining Spotify’s most-streamed overall artist in Jamaica for a fifth straight year. Blending hip-hop, R&B, and dancehall influences, the Canadian superstar has maintained the No. 1 overall position every year since Spotify’s Jamaican debut.

A dramatic new entry comes from Skippa, who breaks into the elite ranks at No. 4, marking a breakout year and solidifying his position as one of dancehall’s fastest-rising stars. Masicka, who landed at No. 4 in 2024 on the strength of major album success, now places at No. 5 for 2025.

Rounding out the top 10 is a blend of international heavyweights and local standouts:
• Alkaline maintains strong influence at No. 6
• The Weeknd holds firm at No. 7
• SZA returns to the top tier at No. 8 after her 2024 appearance
• Malie Donn improves his placement at No. 9
• Chris Brown continues to command Jamaican listenership at No. 10

Together, the rankings reflect a shifting but vibrant streaming landscape—one where Chronic Law reaches a new peak, Kartel remains a powerful force, Drake continues his reign, and a new wave of talent pushes the genre forward.
