Chronic Law Once Again Detained by US Authorities

Popular Jamaican dancehall artiste Chronic Law has once again been detained by authorities in the United States, marking his second detention in the country this year. 

According to reports, the entertainer, whose real name is Ackeem Campbell, was taken into custody in Broward County, South Florida, on July 5, 2026, on firearm-related charges. Specific details surrounding the allegations have not yet been released. 

His manager, Alexandre “Bashy” Jones, confirmed the detention and urged fans and the public to allow the legal process to unfold.

“We are aware of the reports regarding Chronic Law’s detention in South Florida. At this time, I ask the public, members of the media and fans to remain calm and allow the legal process to take its course. Our legal team is actively handling the matter, and I have full confidence that it will be addressed through the appropriate legal channels,” Jones said. 

The latest incident comes just months after Chronic Law was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement(ICE) in January 2026. He remained in immigration custody for several weeks before being released in March. 

During that detention, the artist released the EP ICE (Inside Cold & Empty), a project inspired by his time in custody and the emotional toll of the experience. 

At this stage, no court outcome has been announced, and his legal team has indicated they are actively addressing the matter through the appropriate legal channels.
