Chuck Demands Forensic Audit Report into PM’s Statutory Declarations

Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck, is demanding that the Integrity Commission turn over the Financial Audit report conducted by its overseas consultant into Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ statutory declarations.

He made the call during Tuesday’s sitting of Parliament’s Integrity Commission Oversight Committee meeting.

Mr. Chuck also voice his displeasure over the Commission’s constant naming of Prime Minister Andrew Holness in matters where it has found no proof of corrupt actions.

Chevon Campbell tells us more.

As part of its assessment of Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ statutory filings, the Integrity Commission noted in its report submitted to Parliament that it had hired an independent overseas consultant to carry out a financial audit.

The findings of that audit were never made public.

The matter of that Integrity Commission report is now before the courts.

However, Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck, says the Commission is still obliged to turn over the findings of that audit to the parliament.

Minister Chuck also questioned the Commission’s persistent citing of the Prime Minister in matters where there’s no evidence of corruption.

He’s referencing the most recent Integrity Commission report on a property located at 2 Weycliffe Close in St. Andrew where it was alleged building breaches took place.

The developers of the property are Estatebridge Holdings.

Prime Minister Holness previously held shares in company that was part owner of Estatebridge.

But at the time of the Commission’s investigation, the prime minister had divested himself of those shares.

The Integrity Commission report had stated that it could find no link between the Prime Minister and the allegations put forward.

Minister Chuck says the actions of the Integrity Commission continue to fuel speculation of rampant corruption among parliamentarians.
