National champions Roshawn Clarke and Ackera Nugent are the first two Jamaicans to sign up with the Michael Johnson-led Grand Slam Track series scheduled to get off in April, next year.

Clarke confirmed his participation in the eight meet series over the weekend. Nugent is understood to have inked her signature a month ago.

The two Jamaicans now join the likes of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Fred Kerley, Cole Hocker and Kenny Bednarek who have signed on for the series.

The series will reward athletes winning with upwards of US $400,000 should they win each of the four slams in their event category.

The first meet in the series is set for Los Angeles with the second at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Michael Johnson is due in Jamaica on October 12 to shed more light on the Kingston leg of the series.
