The Director General of the Financial Services Commission, Claude Haylock, has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Board for the University of Belize’s Institute of Banking and Finance. The formal transfer of the chairmanship took place yesterday at a board meeting hosted by the commission. Members discussed the institute’s direction, immediate priorities and the next steps in developing its role in professional training for Belize’s financial sector. As chair, Haylock will work with board members and the institute’s team to guide that work and support practical learning opportunities that meet the changing needs of people working in banking and finance. The Financial Services Commission says it will continue working with the University of Belize and the institute to strengthen skills and professional development across the sector.
