Commentator: PNP Didn’t Do Enough to Disprove Former Caretaker’s Claims

Public commentator Germaine Barrett says the People’s National Party, PNP, didn’t go far enough in seeking to disprove ousted caretaker, Lawrence Rowe’s, claims.

Barrett was speaking on Nationwide This Morning on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post on the weekend, Rowe claimed opposition leader, Mark Golding, offered him $15 million in resources along with a seat in the senate and an appointment to a government board, if he goes quietly.

The party responded, saying his claims contradict its long-standing policies and practices.

The PNP says it is committed to upholding the principles of transparency and good governance and will address the matter at a time convenient to the party.

However, Barrett says the party’s response has left people feeling confused.

And Barrett is questioning Mark Golding’s reason for setting aside the party’s integrity committee to enlist Rowe as caretaker.
