Construction Worker Remanded After Failing to Post Bail for Knife Assault

Marvin Garma was remanded to the Belize central prison after failing to post a bail of $1,500.00, for aggravated assault with a knife. The construction worker from the Fresh Pond Area appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Mannon Dennison in court number 6 yesterday where he was read a single charge for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument upon Tamsy Moody. 

Garma initially pleaded guilty to the charge with an explanation that the case provided by the police was inaccurate. The magistrate then entered an equivocal plea of not guilty on his behalf. Garma was offered a bail of $1,500.00 plus one surety of the same amount. Conditions to his bail include a 100-yard restraining order from Moody
