Cool & Smooth T20 tourney to expand

ORGANISER OF the Cool & Smooth T20 Explosion, Dario Barthley, has revealed that 2025 could see the tournament being expanded to at least three other Caribbean countries.

In 2024 the tournament was held in St Kitts and Nevis for the first time, with the Molineaux Blue Runners capturing the title by defeating the Sandy Point Snappers by nine wickets.

Barthley, the CEO of BMP Sports Caribbean and the Americas, said while the 2025 edition scheduled to be held in Antigua and Barbuda was forced to be cancelled, he announced that it would be returning to St Kitts and Nevis along with possibly two or three other territories.

He said negotiations were continuing as they searched for suitable windows within the cricket calendar.

“There are a few periods we are looking at and obviously because we want people to watch it, you want to get a period where there is not much going on.

“But in terms of the Cool & Smooth T20 tournaments, I wouldn’t be too worried about dates, but they will come off. There will definitely be one or two and possibly three Cool & Smooth T20s in 2025 in other territories,” Barthley said.

Reports indicate that Jamaica and Dominica are among the territories in negotiations to host tournaments there.
