Councillor for the Craighead division in North East Manchester, Omar Miller, says he has mixed feelings about the elevations of Senator Audrey Marks to the position of candidate-in-waiting for the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, ahead of the next general election.
On Tuesday, the JLP top brass, including leader Dr. Andrew Holness, introduced Senator Marks to party workers in Christiana.
Dr. Holness also posted a picture to social media in which he was seen joining hands with Senator Marks and Councillor Miller.
Shortly after he met with Prime Minister Holness, Councillor Miller told Nationwide News that he had set aside his aspirations.
JLP general secretary, Dr. Horace Chang commended Councillor Miller for relinquishing his ambition. Councillor Miller says there are many labourites on the ground who are also experiencing mixed feelings.
The other aspirant for the caretaker role, before Senator Marks’ entry was Holmwood Technical principal, Hidran McKulsky.
McKulsky says he supports the move by the JLP to select Senator Marks.
Meanwhile, Councillor Miller says Senator Marks is a good choice for North East Manchester.
