Countdown to Carnival Kicks Off !

The countdown to the 50th celebration of Carnival in Belize has officially begun following the official launch of the Carnival Golden Jubilee held over the weekend. The launch, hosted by the Belize Carnival Association, was held at the Memorial Park in Belize City on Saturday, July 19. The event saw the bands participating in this year’s carnival road march, giving crowds a teaser of their upcoming routines. President of the Carnival Association, Patrick Thompson, says that the bands are pulling out all the stops to make the 50th anniversary the most memorable carnival to date.

This year’s Carnival Road March will follow the route used last year starting near Memorial Park and concluding at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex, with the judging area encompassing the entire length of Digi Park
