Courts Disrupted by Suspected Malware Attack on IT System

Reports reaching our newsroom yesterday were that the court IT framework had been hacked and that malware had been injected into the system.  A few hours later, a release from the courts came out, dubbing the situation as a technical issue with its IT infrastructure.  The office of the Chief Justice issued a statement yesterday, saying that the issues have impacted on the High Court’s case management system, leading to disruptions in its operations. However, their E-filing system, known as “Attache,” remains fully operational. This means that court users can continue to file and access documents through the Attache system without any interruption. Love News understands that the issue may have bene caused by a Malware attack. Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of E-Governance Jose Urbina says that the issue was not a major threat.

Urbina said that the situation and others like it are the reasons why the government made e-governance a stand-alone ministry.

The courts said that it is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
