CPO meets CGWTU on workers’ agreement

Chief Personnel Officer Commander Dr Daryl Dindial today met with the Executive of the Contractors and General Workers Trade Union following the signing of revised terms and conditions for the periods 2014–2016 and 2017–2019.

The revised terms were signed on April 24, 2025.

Commander Dindial said the meeting addressed matters arising under the agreement affecting daily-rated workers of the San Fernando City Corporation. He said discussions also covered existing terms and conditions outside of wage negotiations.

Commander Dindial stated that the session allowed for dialogue on issues impacting daily-rated employees and the application of the agreement.

He said the engagement formed part of continued discussions between the Office of the Chief Personnel Officer and the union on matters concerning daily-rated workers.

In closing, Commander Dindial said the union remained committed to its daily-rated workforce. He said welfare, benefits and working conditions continued to be addressed through engagement between the parties.

Commander Dindial thanked President General De Bique-Meade for leadership during the process. He also thanked members of the Executive for their participation in the discussions.

The meeting forms part of ongoing talks between the Office of the Chief Personnel Officer and the Contractors and General Workers Trade Union on issues related to terms and conditions of employment for daily-rated workers.
