The Jamaica Cycling Federation, JCF, received an equipment grant of $1 million from the Jamaica Olympic Association, JOA.
The JCF say the funds was used to purchase racing and training equipment including smart trainers. Smart trainers have become popular as they have been found to be integral in modernising cycling training programs.
The smart trainers enable riders and coaches to approach training in a more scientific manner.
President of the JOA, Christopher Samuda, says three pillars are necessary if an athlete is to achieve his maximum potential.
Samuda says the grant confirms JOA’s continued support for the growth and development of the underrepresented sporting disciplines.
