Police are currently on the scene of a fatal shooting at the Mandela Highway entrance to Portmore in St Catherine, where investigations are underway.
The incident, which occurred around 7:12 a.m. on Friday, was captured on dashcam footage. The video shows two men riding a motorcycle pulling up beside a silver utility van that had stopped at traffic lights. The passenger on the bike then opened fire, directing multiple shots at the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Following the attack, the van veered off the roadway and crashed onto an embankment.
The shooting has led to significant traffic congestion in the area. CCTV footage from Six Miles shows a buildup of vehicles stretching from Washington Boulevard and Spanish Town Road in St Andrew, with motorists moving slowly towards Spanish Town as the situation unfolds.
