Davido’s genre-defining fourth studio album Timeless has reached another major milestone, earning a Silver certification in the United Kingdom from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) after surpassing 100,000 units sold. The acclaimed project, released in March 2023, featured a dynamic fusion of Afrobeat, dancehall, and global sounds—including the standout collaboration “Bop” with Jamaican star Dexta Daps. The track not only showcased the synergy between Afro-Caribbean rhythms but also marked Daps’ first entry on the Billboard US Afrobeats Song Chart, debuting at No. 22 in April 2023.
Since its release, Timeless has lived up to its name, delivering a long-lasting impact. The 17-track album broke streaming records across Spotify, Audiomack, and Boomplay in Nigeria, and boasted an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Asake, Skepta, Fave, Cavemen, and Grammy-winner Angelique Kidjo. Its wide-ranging collaborations and polished production have helped establish Davido as one of Afrobeats’ most reliable global ambassadors.
The hit single “Unavailable” emerged as one of the album’s biggest successes. In addition to earning its own Silver certification in the UK, the infectious anthem received a Grammy nomination, further cementing Davido’s international presence. Another track, “Feel,” was also recognised by the Recording Academy with a nomination for Best Global Song Performance, while Timeless itself landed a nod for Best Global Album. The Headies, Nigeria’s premier music awards, acknowledged “Unavailable” with a nomination for Song of the Year.
Building on the momentum of Timeless, Davido released his fifth album 5ive in April 2025. Featuring collaborations like “With You” alongside Omah Lay, the album has been met with strong commercial reception and is fueling his ongoing 5ive tour across North America and Europe. The tour, packed with high-energy performances and fanfare, continues to affirm his position at the forefront of the global music scene.
Davido’s continued dominance with Timeless and 5ive illustrates not only the strength of his artistry but also the global appetite for Afrobeats. With collaborators like Dexta Daps helping to bridge cultural and sonic boundaries, the genre’s international growth shows no signs of slowing.
