This afternoon, police were called to the old Bellevue Dock area in Belize City where the body of an unidentified Hispanic male was found floating in the sea. Eyewitnesses say the body was already in a state of decomposition when discovered, and notably, the man was wearing a wedding band and bore several tattoos. Police officers recovered the body from the water and transported it to the morgue as investigations continue. Love News spoke with Commissioner of Police, Richard Rosado who explained that they are still trying to identify the individual.

Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police: “Sometime this afternoon a body was discovered behind Bliss Institute. We have still not identified the body as yet so we treating it as a death investigation but we have not confirmed the identity of the person as yet. We do know that the individual has several tattoo marks on him. I believe one of the tattoo marks on one of his arms has “Anthony” on it but we are still trying to determine who is the individual. The individual appears to be in his early 40s I would say.’
The police department is asking that if you recognize any of the tattoos or have information that could help, to contact Crime Stoppers Belize at 922, use the P3 Tips app, or report directly to the nearest police station.
