Denim, diamonds and dancing for a cause

Denim, diamonds and dazzling style took centre stage as insurance and financial professionals traded their work attire for fashionable ensembles at the Denim and Diamonds party, hosted by the South Chapter of the Trinidad and Tobago Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (TTAIFA) at Carnival City, Gulf City, on Saturday October 17.

Patrons embraced the theme with a variety of denim looks, elevated by sparkling diamond accessories and creative styling.

The result was an evening filled with fashion, laughter, music and camaraderie, as guests showed off their looks and enjoyed a lively atmosphere that blended entertainment with a spirit of giving.

The dance floor was soon buzzing with activity as patrons danced, mingled and joined a conga line that wound its way through the venue, adding to the night’s sense of fun and togetherness.

DJs Johan and International Papi kept the crowd moving with a varied selection of music spanning different genres.

The excitement peaked with the arrival of soca artiste Ding Dong (Andre Houlder), whose guest appearance sent the crowd into a frenzy.

He performed a selection of his hit songs before treating partygoers to a nostalgic change of pace with renditions of classics by legendary calypsonian Mighty Sparrow.

The performances had guests singing along and returning to the dance floor.

The entertainment continued with door prizes and the Best Dressed Male and Best Dressed Female competitions, giving patrons another opportunity to showcase their creativity and style while adding a touch of friendly competition to the evening.

Yet, beyond the fashion and festivities, the event had a deeper purpose.

It brought members of the insurance and financial services community together to relax, strengthen professional relationships and support initiatives aimed at helping those in need.

The TTAIFA South Chapter’s eight-member organising committee, led by President Trudy Pedro and Vice-President Joanne Baptiste, was instrumental in bringing the event to life.

Their efforts reflected the chapter’s commitment to creating opportunities for fellowship while supporting meaningful community outreach.

Pedro said the event was about more than a night of entertainment.
