Police say the burnt body found in Princes Town two months ago is 31-year-old Jeremy David.

David had been reported missing.

DNA samples were taken from his relatives and sent for testing, and the results were received this week. An autopsy was done on June 24, but the cause of the death was undetermined due to the advanced state of decomposition, police said.

On June 3, a 50-year-old gardener, who had gone to the area to pick shadon beni, around 8 am off the Buen Intento Road, made the gruesome find.

Police said the body was decomposed and found about 200 feet from the road.

David was last seen on May 30, leaving his La Romain home in a silver-grey Toyota Fielder wagon.

His mother, Annette Ramkissoon, told police that David left home around 10 am on the Indian Arrival Day holiday, and since then she had been unable to contact him on his cellphone.

David was employed as a manager at the Diego Martin Regional Corporation and was the son of Jerry David, a senior disaster management coordinator at the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government.

A suspect has yet to be arrested in connection with the murder. Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region III are investigating.
