Dozens of St Mary & St Ann teachers pampered

Just about 150 teachers from St Mary and St Ann were treated to their 1st catamaran experience courtesy of The Sandals Ocho Rios Beach Resort on Teachers Day May 6th, 2026.

The teachers received neck and shoulder massages from the Sandals spa personnel at the Sandals Ocho Rios Beach Resort pier.

The teachers were treated to a buffet of assorted gourmet food for lunch and a DJ playing gospel music, reggae and dancehall.

Sandals Ocho Rios Beach Resort then followed up this in the Child’s Month of May with a free dental clinic that screened over 500 students in a week ending May 15th at the Gayle Civic Center in St Mary.

Volunteer dentists, dental personnel and equipment were set up at the Civic Center, where 70 students in one day were screened and given dental treatment ranging from screening to fillings and extraction, sealants and cleaning.

According to Lyndsay Isaacs, Regional PR Manager, Sandals Ocho Rios Beach Resort, says “The Annual Sandals Foundation’s Free Dental Health Clinic is vital for many families and early detection has helped to save many beautiful smiles”.
