Talented Reggae Crooner Duane Stephenson is embracing the laidback relationship vibe with his latest single ‘Weekend Dude’. The single acts as the lead track from his latest album project, also called Weekend Dude, that was officially released while the artist was on his European tour earlier this summer.
Duane sees the Weekend Dude album itself as a quest to not take ourselves so seriously, especially after surviving Covid. The single ‘Weekend Dude’ amplifies that thought as it talks about a situation-ship or a weekend relationship that is easy and fun, and just for the weekend.
“After Covid we all needed a break man, learn to relax and not take everything too seriously. Being a weekend dude isn’t for everyone though, it depends on where you are in life; If you are the reason for a great weekend and that freedom yes, but if you are at the point where you looking to be a picture of growth and seriousness than maybe not so much,” Duane explained
Duane also believes that the weekend relationship experience is more common than we are willing to admit and many persons have had this experience at some point, especially in their youthful dating life experiences.
“People will relate to ‘Weeded Dude’ because it is a part of life and most have had that kind of a relationship. Nowadays more and more people prefer that hassle-free relationship experience and even enjoy that on TV, on radio and are really Invested in the freedom it seems.” Duane added
For Duane, the ultimate weekend date starts with dinner and a movie and climaxes with experiences far from the reality of everyday life, the ultimate weekend escape. This concept will play out in the recently recorded visuals for the ‘Weekend Dude’ single, which should be completed later this month.
Duane is also now in album promotion mode and will be showcasing the project across the island in the coming months.
