Eagles, Runnin Rebels Book NBL Semi-final Places

Upper Room Eagles and UWI Runnin Rebels joined St. George’s Slayer and Urban Knights in the semi-final of the National Basketball League.

The Eagles advanced after beating Spanish Town Spartans 78-61 in game two of their best of three quarter-final to take the series 2-0 at the Stadium Courts, on Thursday.

Derjean Royal scored 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Eagles, while Damian Johnson had 28 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort for the Spartans.

Meanwhile, the Runnin Rebels also won their series 2-0 after beating Rae Town Raptors 59-52 in game two. Omari Green scored 24 points and 19 rebounds for UWI.

In the women’s league, Tissa Parker scored 28 points and five rebounds but could not prevent the Lady Warriors from going down 62-61 against the Lady Eagles.

Tissa Robinson scored 22 points for the Eagles.
