Another road traffic incident involving a motorcycle has left one man dead. LJay Wade confirmed that the incident occurred in  Roaring Creek village on Friday, October 17 around 3:30 am.

Ljay Wade, Cayo Correspondent: Roaring Creek police were called to the scene of an accident on the George Price Highway, where Montero and Armstrong were both found with varying degrees of injuries.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Stacy Smith : “Upon the arrival of police, they observed two male persons with varying degrees of injuries,  consistent with a traffic accident.  Also observed on the scene was a Lifan brand motorcycle, which was damaged,  and the guardrail in that area was also observed to be showing signs of damage.  Preliminary investigations revealed that on the same date at approximately 3.15, Montero and Armstrong were traveling on the motorcycle  where Montero, who is believed to have been the driver, lost control and collided into the guardrail which caused them to be flung from the cycle.”

Ljay Wade, Cayo Correspondent: As you heard, police believe that Montero lost control of the motorcycle, but the family believes that Montero and Armstrong were purposefully ran off the road by the white pickup truck that was pursuing them. We spoke with Michael Vasquez, the father of now deceased Montero, who says that following the incident, he received a tip that a fellow villager was responsible for his son’s demise.

Michael Vasquez, Father of Deceased: “He saw Darryl dead. Darryl  is my son. They  hurt me so much, my friend. That’s why I’m crying. And we was around the hospital when the same guy received a phone call and he said that the neighbor of the person who committed the crime, was in front of their yard, washing the bumper  and they tried to change the bumper, around those same hours, like I said, I am not sure , probably between 2.30 to 3, something like that. And like we said, what? We said we have to go there and check that. So when we reached the front by the truck, the truck has a piece on the bumper that has a big dent in it, that confirms, just like how the piece of metal was on it.  So one of my son’s brother-in-law got mad he started to curse that they killed the young boy, saying that there is proof on the bumper and we know it is that.”

Ljay Wade, Cayo Correspondent: But that was all speculation, and dead men tell no tales. So thankfully, Sean Armstrong survived to corroborate what the family believed, that they were indeed ran off the road.

Michael Vasquez, Father of Deceased: “It could have been that we was  judging wrong. We’re still not sure that that is the truth.  So the only the only strings that we have in mind now that could help me is the young boy, that was severely injured.  So are waiting for an opportunity for him to wake up back again. So I keep contact with his dad and his dad end up telling me that his son talked and his son said, dad he said, that thing start from Belmopan and from Belmupan this white truck they chase them down and chase them down until they meet them at the corner and then they bounce them off of the road into the ditch.”

Ljay Wade, Cayo Correspondent: This story you would give  completely different than what police say. I’ll read the police report for Yes, exactly different. says they were traveling when they lost control of the motorcycle  and collided into the guardrail.

Michael Vasquez, Father of Deceased: “That is totally lie because I have some people who assist me to go and ask on the highway, like the big shop will have their big cameras.  And at those times more or less, they saw when the motorcycle was almost like 80 to almost 100 miles, cutting down,  coming up the side and the pickup truck.”

Ljay Wade, Cayo Correspondent: Police say that they are investigating  and according to the family, they’ll keep doing their part as well to bring justice to their loved one. Reporting for Love News, LJ Wade.
