Earth Lopez Elected UDP Caretaker for Dangriga Constituency

Earth Lopez, a teacher of Mathematics at the Stann Creek Ecumenical College in Dangriga Town is the newly elected caretaker for the United Democratic Party in Dangriga constituency, winning her seat with a total of 227 votes. The former councillor and deputy mayor spoke with harry Arzu about her plans as caretaker for the UDP.

Earth Lopez: “So moving forward, the first thing we want to do is to put together our constituency committee, one that is strong, one that will work for the greater good of the United Democratic Party and also for our community at large, Dangriga, Hope Creek and Sarawee. Well, first, as the constituency caretaker, the next election that we have coming up is the municipal elections. So, we’ll be getting ready for that. We’re going to make sure that we put together the strongest slate possible that we present the Dangriga community with a slate that they can believe in, they can trust in, and that they can  have faith that we will improve our community. And of course, after that, we start to prepare for the next general elections.  We are confident that we will return the United Democratic Party  back to the Dangriga constituency for the next general elections.”

The other candidates are Aron Anderson who received 150 votes, Richard webster 195, and Simion Lorenzo 22 votes. There were nine rejected ballots and 603 votes cast
