Police officers attached to several formations within the Eastern Division were recognized today for their contributions in the investigation and prosecution of firearm-related offenses across Belize City and surrounding communities.  The awards ceremony was held inside the training room of the Queen Street Police Station.  It brought together senior commanders from the Eastern Region, including Eastern Regional Commander ACP Reymundo Reyes, along with his deputies, Senior Superintendent Dehanne Augustine and Superintendent Antonio Gomez. Divisional, precinct, and unit commanders also attended the event in support of the officers being honored.  During the ceremony, officers received awards and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance, teamwork, and dedication to duty in tackling gun-related crime. Police say the officers played important roles in investigations that led to successful firearm-related prosecutions within the Eastern Division.  In his address to the awardees, ACP Reymundo Reyes commended the officers for their commitment and professionalism, noting that their work continues to contribute to public safety efforts and the reduction of gun violence within Belizean communities.  Among those recognized today were Police Constables Marvin Mai, Brayon Ramos, Christian Cawich, Desmond Nunez, Hugh Barrow, and Christian Chavarria, along with Corporals Julio Balam, Shanice Lammey, and Jaime Arzu. The officers represented formations including Precincts One, Two and Three, Caye Caulker Police, the Special Patrol Unit, the Mobile Interdiction Unit, and the Gang Intelligence, Investigation and Interdiction Unit, GI3.  Police officials say the recognition ceremony forms part of ongoing efforts to boost morale within the department.
