The Electoral Commission of Jamaica, ECJ, says it has invited several local and international bodies to send representatives who will observe the upcoming General Election.

All eyes are set on Sunday, August 10, as it’s expected the date of the 2025 general election will be announced then.

According to the ECJ, mission teams will be deployed on Election Day to observe Jamaica’s electoral process and post-election proceedings.

It says those teams will come from CARICOM, the Organization of American States, the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Center for Electoral Advisory and Promotion.

Jamaica’s Citizens Action for Free and Fair Elections, CAFFE, will also observe the day’s proceedings.

The ECJ says the main purpose of observer missions is to gather information, report their findings and make recommendations to the Commission.
