Tashana Godfrey of Edwin Allen established a new meet record of 11.15 seconds in winning heat-1 of the class-3 girls’ 80 metres hurdles in the morning session on day four of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
Godfrey erased the old mark of 11.33 seconds set by Kareecia Thompson of Immaculate Conception High School in 1996.
Her teammate Macaela Gordon also went under the old record winning heat-4 in 11.31 seconds.
Meanwhile, Ronaldino Barnett of Calabar is the fastest going into the semi-finals of the class-3 boys’ 100 metres hurdles posting 13.15 seconds to win heat-1.
Seventeen finals are on the schedule for today including the 400m hurdles all classes.
