Dancehall star Elephant Man is expressing excitement after going viral with his remake of Connie Francis’ 1962 hit Pretty Little Baby.
Before Ele’s remake, Connie’s original went viral on TikTok following her passing on July 16 at the age of 87. Reports say she had been diagnosed with pneumonia the day before she died. To pay homage, TikTok users uploaded videos singing or simply vibing to her song.
Elephant Man, no stranger to musical renditions, quickly jumped on the trend with a Dancehall version titled Pretty Baby. The Dancehall hitmaker tells Music News he didn’t expect the song to gain such popularity so quickly.
Elephant Man is set to perform at Reggae Fest on August 30 at the Barclay’s Center in New York. The event, organized by popular promoter CJ Milan, will also feature Alkaline, Capleton, Shenseea, Mr. Vegas, and others.
