The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) has completed its 2025 Vacation Internship Programme, which ran from June to August and engaged 13 university students.
The three-month initiative exposed participants to practical experience across several EMA departments, including finance, procurement, quality management, health, safety and environment, permitting, projects, information technology, economics, corporate communications and legal services. The EMA stated that the programme provided students with opportunities to expand their knowledge and build workplace skills under the guidance of EMA staff.
The internship concluded with a “Lunch and Learn” session on 13 August at the EMA’s North Office, 8 Elizabeth Street, St. Clair. During the session, students presented on their experiences, lessons learnt and the impact of the internship on their academic and career development.
The EMA described the programme as part of its commitment to youth development and environmental awareness. The Authority added that it remains focused on providing opportunities for future professionals to contribute to sustainability and environmental management.
The 2025 Vacation Internship Programme marked the continuation of the EMA’s efforts to involve young people in environmental initiatives and to prepare them for roles within the sector. The Authority expressed appreciation to the participants and extended best wishes for their future careers.
