England Beat WI to Seal 3-0 Series Sweep

England beat West Indies by seven wickets via the Duckworth Lewis method in the third One Day International to seal a 3-nil series sweep at the Kia Oval, on Tuesday.

London gridlocked traffic resulted in the Windies team bus reaching The Oval 10 minutes after the scheduled toss.

The match eventually started half an hour late.

Batting first, the Windies made 251 for 9 off 40 overs.

Captain Shai Hope failed to trouble the scorer, Sherfane Rutherford made 70, Gudakesh Motie 63 and Alzarri Joseph 41.

Adil Rashid took 3 for 40.

Motie says the Chaotic start may have contributed to their below par performance.

Set a revised total of 246 off 40 overs after rain, England reached the target inside 30 overs.

Jamie Smith made 64, Ben Duckett 58 and Joe Root 44.

Final scores West Indies 251 for 9, England 246 for 6.

Windies have not beaten England in an ODI away from home since 2007.
