An intelligence-led operation resulted in the capture of Israel Bradley Usher who had escaped police custody this week. He was taken to court this morning and has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December 30. Bradley-Usher was caught on surveillance footage as being one of the two robbers who held up a pair of tourists on Burns Avenue in San Ignacio Town, Cayo District. Love News understands that the wanted robber was captured in the Bainsville area in Hattieville, Belize District, just after seven o’clock last night. Bradley Usher, also known as “Satan,” had been the subject of an active police search after he escaped from lawful custody in San Ignacio, following his initial detention in relation to the robbery of two tourists. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Stacy Smith, confirmed the recapture and spoke on the importance of neighborhood watches. ASP Smith also issued a public advisory, urging residents to remain alert and aware of their surroundings. She noted that timely reports of unfamiliar individuals in the area could help prevent crimes before they occur.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “As it relates to that very incident I am pleased to advise that we were able to apprehend and recapture Mr. Usher last night in Hattieville and this was a consequence of operational efforts by the Quick Response Team, GI3 personnel as well as Special Branch personnel acting on intelligence. So we are grateful that the Special Branch personnel were able to collect that information form members of the general public which is an indication that persons were as outraged about the incident as we are as the department and certainly he will be charged for the offense that he committed as well as the escape and be taken before the court.”
As it relates to Bradley-Usher’s escape, ASP Stacy Smith noted that he was able to escape during a routine cleaning of the cell block. Police Commissioner, Dr. Richard Rosado, has since confirmed that an internal investigation is underway to determine how the escape occurred and whether proper procedures were followed while the suspect was in custody.
