Exile Di Brave Sonflower Portfolio

Jamaican artist Exile Di Brave presents The Sonflower Portfolio, his 6th studio album. Blooming from introspect and community, the project finds Brave’s family and friends nurturing a more personal offering. The Sonflower Portfolio masterfully weaves threads of Brave’s personal journey into an odyssey spread across thirteen (13) tracks, and featuring multiple alter egos.

These personas stay active in the Dancehalls with SoundQuake Sound, with Gavin Blair of Equinoxx Music in their Kat7 outfit, and worldwide performances ranging from Wickie Wackie Reggae Fest in Jamaica to Berlin Atonal. This wealth of experience and reach is on display in the credits as the collaborative effort sees Brave’, Oliver Speicher and Hendrick Valera mixing tracks; Brave’s own mixing engineering journey and openness to ideas geared towards a larger audience is platformed sonically.

The extent of work gets more personal as the music for the songs comes in large part from longtime friend Scaley Blacks, with Gavsborg and Skalaa Music providing key pieces for completion. The personal touch moves from physical community closer to the heart as the artwork was hand crafted by Brave’s children. Through it’s dancehall and hip hop motifs, storytelling through song, and bridging nations together through work, Sonflower is a lesson of rising to the light of the world and keeping things hopeful through all that has been and all that is.
