Reggae singer Fantan Mojah is accusing some selectors of neglecting Reggae music in their sets.
The “Stronger” hitmaker made the statement during his Road To Success interview on the Easy Skankin Show with Kshema Francis on Thursday, May 29.
In response, popular selector Boom Boom shared his perspective in a Music News exclusive. While he says he understands Fantan Mojah’s frustration, he disagrees with the blanket statement, noting that he plays Reggae during prime time at both Boom Sundays and Uptown Mondays.
Meanwhile, Irie FM’s DJ Lollipop—who plays out nearly every weekend—believes that some Reggae artists also fail to support selectors, contributing to the disconnect.
Fantan Mojah, known for anthems like Hunger, Hail The King, and Stronger, maintains that Reggae music in Jamaica doesn’t receive the same level of attention and respect as Dancehall.
