Farmer Killed in Spanish Lookout Crop-Duster Plane Crash

A farming community in Spanish Lookout is mourning the loss of one of its own following the crash of a crop-duster aircraft this morning. Forty-two-year-old farmer Henry Plett was reportedly carrying out aerial fertilisation over corn fields when the aircraft went down in the Mennonite Beach area. Police and scene investigators processed the crash site near Riverside Road as they continue their investigation. Our Cayo correspondent, LJay Wade, has more.

The yellow crop duster aircraft bore tail number N4523L and was found crashed in a pasture.  Plett was unmarried and had no children. His body was removed from the scene and taken to the morgue just after midday.
