Fears Grow for Missing Belizean Man Last Seen in Sandhill

Concerns are mounting tonight for the safety of a missing Belizean man, whose disappearance is now drawing troubling parallels to another ongoing case.  Twenty-three-year-old Lidahni Martinez was reported missing on March 27; the very same day that Deborah “Bree” Arthurs also disappeared. According to relatives, Martinez was last seen that evening in Sandhill, when he was picked up from a residence by occupants of a silver Chevrolet Equinox. Since then, there has been no confirmed contact with him.  Family members say they have been left in anguish, with no answers as days turn into weeks. One relative, speaking to the media, expressed growing fears that Martinez may have been killed and buried, although that has not been confirmed by authorities.  At today’s police press briefing, Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith provided an update on the case and the ongoing investigation.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “The investigation commenced on Tuesday 7 April 2026 when the common law wife of Martinez reported to police that on 27th March 2026 sometime after three o’clock PM here common-law husband left their home onboard an SUV and up to the time of her making that report she had not heard from him. Police have recorded a number of statements in connection wit this ongoing investigation and are now seeking two individuals who we believe may be able to assist with the investigation.”

Love News understands that Martinez had only recently been released from prison, approximately five months ago, a detail investigators are also taking into consideration as they piece together his last known movements.    His disappearance adds to a growing list of missing persons cases that have raised serious public concern, particularly as the search continues for Bree Arthurs.  Police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating Martinez. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station.
