FIFA Intervention Possible Amid Cephas Transfer Saga

Jamaican International Renaldo Cephas has found himself at the centre of a transfer saga that could ultimately see the intervention of football’s world governing body FIFA.

The 25 year old former Arnett Gardens striker joined Russia Premier League outfit Pari Nizhny on July 25 on a free from Turkish Super Lig side Ankaragucu.

However Ankaragucu is now reporting that Cephas left the club without their knowledge and approval and that they still have a contract with the player.

The club says it will initiate the necessary legal proceedings against the player and the signing club with FIFA to prevent the player’s unauthorized transfer or to get compensation from him moving.

Cephas’ contract with Ankaragucu was scheduled to run until the summer of 2027, but the contract was said to have been terminated via mutual consent.

Pari Nizhny has paraded Cephas on their official team page as their latest acquisition on a contract that is expected to run until June 30, 2028

Cephas is listed as the second most valuable player in the Pari Nizhny set up at 1.3 million Euros.
