The Jamaica Football Federation, JFF has announced that they’ve been formally removed from restricted funding by football’s world governing body FIFA.
The JFF had been placed on restricted funding by FIFA due to governance and financial issues in 2020.
This resulted in the federation receiving limited funding in smaller increments.
President of the JFF Michael Ricketts, says it had been tedious work addressing the issues while regaining greater economic support.
The JFF was asked to ensure their financial records are clean and audited statements are delivered on time, in order to satisfy FIFA’s requirements to have the restriction lifted.
Head of MA Finance Services at FIFA, Christoph Suppiger, says FIFA recently completed an audit of the JFF and the feedback received indicates significant improvements.
