First T20 Between Ireland & West Indies Abandoned

2 months ago 4

The first T20 International between Ireland and West Indies was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Thursday due to persistent rain at Bready Cricket Ground.

The teams didn’t even make it to the ground. The West Indies were left at their hotel sheltering as any hopes of play faded early.

The West Indies are seeking redemption as they are coming off a clean sweep against England. They lost all six games across One-Day Internationals, ODI, and T20Is.

With form not on their side and a shock ODI defeat to Ireland still fresh, Shai Hope’s team is looking for only its second win from nine games on the tour.

Attention now turns to Saturday’s second match, weather permitting at the same venue.
