Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Julian Robinson, is accusing Government Senator Abka Fitz-Henley of trying to mislead the Jamaican public about the role of the PNP administration in the fraud at embattled investment firm, Stocks and Securities Limited, SSL.
Last year, former Finance Minister, Dr. Peter Phillips, said in 2013 he was made aware of concerns about SSL by the Financial Services Commission, FSC.
Phillips was the portfolio Minister in 2013.
Mr. Robinson is calling on the government to provide clarity on the reasons behind the decision to lift restrictions on SSL without proper verification.
He’s also calling for the forensic report on investigations into the multi-million dollar fraud to be released.
