Fitz-Henley: Bunting Attempting to Use Police Row to Mask Ineptitude in Office

8 months ago 39

Government senator, Abka Fitz-Henley, has accused former Minister of National Security, Peter Bunting, of using recent remarks about the work of the security forces to mask his ineptitude while in office.

Bunting recently told the media he’ll be having a meeting with INDECOM in light of 50 police fatal shootings.

Those shootings have accompanied a 24 per cent reduction in murders so far this year.

Bunting says the meeting is aimed towards ensuring Jamaica does not return to “shortcut policing”.

Speaking to the media shortly after a Jamaica Labour Party Area Council One meeting in St. Andrew on Sunday evening, Fitz-Henley chided Bunting.

Senator Fitz-Henley says Bunting is refusing to even offer token appreciation to the security forces for their success so far this year in the fight against violent criminals.
