Five people, including a 16-year-old minor, have been arraigned in connection with a firearm and ammunition discovery at a residence on Caesar Ridge Road and Kraal Road in Belize City. Four adults have been remanded to prison, while the minor was granted bail under strict conditions. The incident stems from a police operation on June 6, when Special Patrol Unit Team 3 acted on intelligence and searched a two-storey home at the corner of Caesar Ridge Road and Kraal Road. Police say the homeowner, 36-year-old Natasha Hughes, and several relatives and associates were present at the time, including her common-law husband, Eldon Pratt. At today’s arraignment, Devon Pratt pleaded guilty to both charges after indicating responsibility for the weapon. However, the prosecution did not withdraw charges against the other accused. The court remanded the four adults until June 29, when Devon Pratt is expected to return for sentencing. The 16-year-old was granted bail of $3,000 plus one surety, with conditions including a 6:00 p.m. curfew and a requirement to stay away from the residence where the firearm was found. All accused are due back in court later this month.
