Five individuals have been charged following the discovery of an illegal firearm and ammunition during a police operation conducted yesterday in United Ville, Cayo District. Reports are that members of the Special Patrol Unit carried out an operation in the village on Tuesday, June 2nd, where they reportedly recovered a .22 caliber pistol along with ammunition. As a result of the discovery, five people were detained and later charged in connection with the firearm.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “Five persons, namely Calvin Garcia, Cindy Forbes, Kareem Garcia, Bernardine Myers and Kevin Trapp, were jointly charged for the offense of kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license. These charges follows the discovery of a .22 pistol containing five live rounds of.22 caliber ammunition.”
Police say the firearm and ammunition were processed as evidence, and the matter has since been placed before the courts.
