Forensic Evidence Linked Vehicle to Officer in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Forensic testing has proven to be a mark of tremendous program in court cases and police investigations.  One example of how effective the National Forensic Services has been is the hit and run matter involving the late police officer Arsenio Cus.  In this case the forsensics team was able to match a blood sample found on businessman Khris Rosado’s vehicle to Cus, who died in a traffic collision on the Philip Goldson Highway. The finding provides forensic evidence linking the vehicle to the deceased officer.  Rosado has pleaded guilty to causing death by careless conduct, but will have to wait until Monday, October 5, to learn his sentence. He appeared before Justice Derick Sylvester this morning, when sentencing was adjourned again. The judge apologized for the delay and said he would make an effort to conclude the matter at the next appearance.  The fatal collision occurred on July 28, 2025, between miles six and seven. According to police, thirty-eight-year-old Cus was riding his motorcycle from Ladyville toward Belize City when a vehicle entered his lane and struck him.  Police later detained Rosado at his Ladyville home, where they found a damaged Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. A post-mortem examination determined that Cus died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries caused by the collision. Rosado entered his guilty plea on June 16 this year.
