Former captain Jermaine Blackwood has been dropped by the Jamaica Scorpions for the sixth round regional four day game against Guyana Harpy Eagle at Sabina Park starting Wednesday.

Blackwood has been having a poor run of form, totalling just 88 runs from nine innings in the current regional season with a highest score of 26.

The former West Indies vice captain started the season as captain of the Scorpions but was stripped of that responsibility after only three games.

Before the start of the season Blackwood lost his place in the West Indies team.

Leroy Lugg has also been dropped from the Scorpions outfit.

Impressive young batter Justine Beckford, who captained Wolmer’s to the Grace Headley cup title last season, has been called up for the game against the Harpy Eagles.
