Former city official sentenced to death in China for taking US$325m in bribes for decades

A former economic development official in the eastern China city of Nanjing was sentenced to death on Monday for taking bribes worth US$325 million over three decades.
Yang Youlin was also convicted of embezzlement, offering bribes, misappropriation of public funds, abuse of power, and money laundering in one of the most dramatic corruption cases in recent years in terms of the sheer scale of the bribes involved.
