Former England Under 21 star Mason Holgate has been called up to the Jamaica squad for the October cycle of the Concacaf Nations League series.
Holgate who will turn 27 in three weeks time, currently plays for Championship side West Bromwich Albion on loan from Everton..
The defender is the only newcomer to the 23 man squad which is missing a few first team regulars including Leon Bailey, Shamar Nicholson and Michael Hector.
However there are recalls for former Jamaica College star Tyreek Magee, Romario Williams and Renaldo Cephas.
Head coach Steve McLaren has never seen Magee in the flesh, but having watched several video clips of the midfielder, the Englishman says he is excited to see what he brings to the national team.
Jamaica will face Nicaragua away on Thursday October 10 before hosting Honduras in Kingston four nights later on October 14 at the national stadium.
The game in Managua is expected to be played on a synthetic surface, so will the Jamaica coaching staff be using the artificial surface at the captain Horace Burell Centre as preparation?
